In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

My love

Please forgive this photo. It's old. Well, not really....it was about 7 years ago. I wouldn't call that old.

Anyway, yesterday I mentioned that I got to thinkin' about the hubs' proposal.

I thought I should share it with y'all.

He was so sweet.

Let's start with the idea that I am not easily fooled. So he knew that the only way to keep it from me was to tell me. I get that the previous statement makes no sense, so let me explain.

He let me know of his intentions early on. We'd both talked it over and it was clear that we wanted to get married....I was just waiting on him to ask.

So he told me he was going to, but it was still a while down the road. He had to save up the money for the ring. And I believed him.

It was probably 6 months later.....Christmas time. And I thought he might put it under the tree....but nothing. And that was OK, so I stopped thinking about it.

The 27th, two days after Christmas, we had been dating for 4 years. He asked me to take the day off work so we could spend some time together. He had lined his aunt up to take some photos of us in the big snow we'd just had. So I did. And funny enough, I asked if I could bring my sweet Belle along for the photos. He had just gotten her for me for my birthday the previous summer. He said no....just me and him.

So I take my sweet time on my day off....slept in, cleaned my room, and then he picked me up for lunch. We had pizza. He didn't eat much, said his tummy wasn't feeling well. And then the conversation turned to marriage. I think he started it. I was coaching him about how he'd really have to try and keep it a secret, because he wasn't very good at that sorta thing. He must have been dying of laughter on the inside.

So, we finish lunch and head to have our pictures made. He was almost out of gas (not really) and had to stop at a gas station. I didn't know he was waiting for his aunt to get ahead of us with my dog in the back of her truck and he was afraid I'd see them driving down the highway.

Since he knew me so well, how OCD I am, he started cleaning the windshield of his truck to distract me. And I just followed right along....."Hey, you missed a spot."

We made it to the picture (or so I thought) location and I saw his aunt there with Belle. I thought..."How sweet, he told me no but had Ginger go get her for the photos anyway."

I still didn't get it.

Ginger was parked really far from us and she let Belle go, but wasn't walking toward us.

I still didn't get it.

Here comes Belle with a blue collar and this thing hanging from her neck. It was metal, but I couldn't really tell what it was. I asked Left Brain why he put a boy collar on my dog. He just giggled.

I still didn't get it.

When Belle gets over to us I notice that the metal thing around her neck was like one of those little barrels that the rescue St. Bernard dogs wear. It was cute.

Still not getting it....

Left Brain bends down and takes something out of the barrel.

Still not getting it. I am wondering what is wrong with his aunt Ginger, why wasn't she coming over. Is she OK?

Then Left Brain lifts up the collar so that I can read what is sewn on it...."Will you marry me?"

I thought he was joking until I see him on his knee with a ring.

I finally got it!

I was speechless.

It was perfect!

This photo was taken just moments after I said, "yes". She was able to capture all of it on film. She was far away but she caught him down on one knee and everything.

I absolutely adore this picture. It says it all....

I was thinking, "I love this man, I love this man!"
