In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

Belle

We've had a rough few days around here.

Yesterday, while I was in the shower, Blue Eyes opened the door and let Belle outside. Which usually is no big deal. Our yard is fairly big, but not fenced. She usually just comes back to the door when she is finished out in the yard.

Because I didn't know she was outside, I didn't know to let her back inside. She was gone for several hours before I realized she wasn't laying on her pillow over in the corner. And by that time, she was NO WHERE to be seen.

I drove everywhere! Asked every neighbor and looked in every ditch! No sign of her anywhere! This was so strange. I knew if she'd been hit I would have seen her on the side of the road or I'd at least see her wondering around. It wasn't like her to just disappear.

A neighbor said a man had a chocolate lab in the back of his truck asking around about who it belonged to. But I'd missed him by 20 minutes. At least I had a bit of hope that she was still alive.

We called the local animal shelters but a man had just dropped off a male chocolate lab that he'd found near our house. Not her. Bummer.

I was sure she'd walk back up the driveway at night. She'd get hungry and sleepy and come back home. But nothing.

About 5pm a relative told me to check facebook. That a neighboring county posted that they had seen a female chocolate lab by their Humane Society earlier that day. I emailed back and forth with the lady at the humane society and she sent me a photo of the dog they had seen. IT WAS MY SWEET BELLE! YAY!!!

The man who had found her passed her around a bit because he couldn't keep her at his house.

We found her this morning at a sweet woman's house. I was worried how she's been treated, but she was perfect. Natalie is a vet tech and even treated her ear mites. HOW SWEET! She was taken perfect care of. She even got to play with Harley....a golden retriever.

I brought her home and gave her a bath. She's so glad to be home. She's napping on her pillow now....must of been a rough night. I never sleep well when I'm away from home either.

The boys are so happy she's home. We all are.

Have a happy weekend!
