It's SNOWING!!!! YAY! I LOVE snow! I especially love snow around Christmas time. It makes things more magical. Yay for that! And at the same time....Brrrrr! It's SO COLD out there. I love snow, but from the comfort of my warm little house.
Left Brain and I attended his company Christmas party on Friday night. It was very nice. We had a good time mingling with his co-workers. The evening event was held at the local "Carson Center" and it was lovely. It was decorated beautifully. The meal was catered by a local company and it was delicious.
It was particularly entertaining for Left Brain and I due to our seating arrangement. We sat across from a woman who had trouble staying awake. We aren't sure of the reason for this. We can only speculate. However, we got a few good laughs as she fell asleep in the middle of eating. I seriously thought at some point her face might meet her slice of chocolate cake. Hilariousness I tell ya.
Other than that, the evening was fairly uneventful. Left Brain and I did meet a sweet little couple that are in the process of adopting a child from Russia. Talking briefly with them allowed me to remember how I felt when we were in their shoes. I hope things go smoothly for them. Waiting is the hardest part and I remember that all too well. Russian adoptions are slightly different from Ukrainian adoptions. But they are similar enough that in taking to them it brought back so many memories. Good and bad. I can't believe that I am seriously considering going through that process again.
Goodness me.
