We had a wonderful Labor Day long weekend, as I hope all of you did! I busted my tail earlier in the week so that we could just enjoy family time while the boys were out of school and Left Brain was off work.
Friday night was wonderful! The boys spent the night with their grandparents, so Left Brain and I were able to go to dinner and enjoy a nice quiet night at home. They boys rarely actually sleep over at their grandparents, we usually go and get them around 9pm. This time we left them there.....ALL NIGHT! And boy was it refreshing! All parents need some time away, if you ask me! I love those little boogers, but adult conversations are nice too!
Anyway, I got up and at em' Saturday morning to start a new workout routine while Left Brain went and picked up the boys. The bestie and I decided that we were gonna start going to a local gym. Not just any gym, I might add. This gym is owned by a little Vietnamese man named Master Dinh. He's a fantastic little fella, I tell ya. Not only does his attitude and method of motivation work like a charm and keep you coming back for more......but he's a muscle machine. I think this guy sweats muscles in his sleep.
Side Note: You must understand this about Master Dinh. This gym is also home to martial arts and cardio kickboxing. He teaches 30 minute kickboxing classes at 5:15am (I attend this one), 6:30am, 8:30am, 9:30am, 4:45pm, and 7pm. He also teaches the little kiddies martial arts every afternoon right after school. As if this isn't enough to solidify his incredibleness (I realize that this isn't a real word) in my eyes....he also runs. And I mean RUNS! 40 miles is a light jog for this man. During our annual Relay for Life festivities...he runs....the whole night! 100 miles. No, I'm not joking.....so when I say that I seriously think this man sweats actual muscles in his sleep.....you understand!
Oh, I almost forgot.....he has abs of steel....by this I mean STEEL!! He also goes once a year (on his anniversary of coming to America) to Washington D.C. and does sit-ups one hour for each year of his citizenship. This year he did sit-ups for 36 HOURS! Abs of steel, I tell ya!
I adore Master Dinh. He makes cardio kickboxing a grueling activity, but somehow manages to do it in a way that I don't hate him for it. BUT, I hate the soreness that I am enduring currently! I, by no means, need to go on a diet....nor will I ever go on a diet. Just won't happen. BUT, I do need to be in shape. Skinny is not in shape. I am learning this the hard way. Whew, but it's fun!
OK, so where were we? Sorry I got off on that tirade about kickboxing....I just love it, can ya tell?!?! hahaha.
Saturday the boys played outside all day, and loved it! The weather was absolutely beautiful here. I cleaned the house, all three boys got a much needed haircut, and we played. Sunday was spent with family. Monday we accomplished some things around the house...like bush hogging the nastiness that our garden had become. We also went to a fish fry last night with family. It was enjoyable. But this morning was not. I rolled my toosh out of bed at 4:45am to start my day. When I got back home around 6 everyone else was awake, and ILL! Those two little fellas of mine are so sweet....with exception of the first 20 minutes that they awake. YIKES!
We got GQ off to school this morning and Blue Eyes and I are here, stokin' the home fires. I am getting things together for some festivities at our house tonight. I'm hosting a Mary Kay party for my makeup lady and some friends are stopping by. Should be a good time.
I think I got y'all caught up. It's a fairly boring life we live. We are still seriously considering adding at least two more children into the mix. We'll see where that goes, for now we are still looking for direction from God.
Happy Tuesday!
Hooray for kickboxing and fish fry's and little boys!
