So.....where to begin?
Mr. GQ has been pestering me for weeks now to take his picture with the train. And I knew he meant the real train that sometimes sits on the tracks down from our house. The kicker was, I had to load up the boys and trot them down there, all while hoping that no one caught us hopping on board a train and playing around. You never know, these days.
Yesterday on the way home from school he once again reminded me that the train was sitting there. And because I had noticed it too, all of the beautiful colors in the new paint job, I went ahead and gave in. I mean, seriously, how often can you indulge your child's every whim? Rarely. So I took them down to the tracks and snapped a few photos.
Now those of you that know Left Brain obviously know that if he knew we were going to check out a real live locomotive.....he was TOTALLY tagging along for the ride. And tag along he did.
I must say that I wanted him to go....those things are a LOT higher off of the ground than you would think. And Blue Eyes being as fearless as he is, well, let's just say that Left Brain being there calmed my fears a bit. He was able to stand up there with them while I was snapping pictures.
BUT.......(this is the part that I didn't see coming) once I was finished snapping photos of the boys on the train...he gave his two cents.
He was wanting me to take a few photos of the "parts" on the train. Lights, fuel gages, junk like that. He wanted me to turn them into Black and Whites so he could frame them and hang them in his office.
Side Note: Left Brain is by no means a "picture hanging in my office" kind of guy. This TOTALLY shocked me. And I have to admit....they turned out really cool and it was a good idea. I just never thought he would 1) be that creative and 2) give a rip if there was anything on the walls of his office.
I spent more time trottin' around with Left Brain, like a kid on Christmas morning, looking around at random parts on a train than I did taking photos of OUR CHILDREN!
He said, "ooooh, get one of this, I think it will look cool." "How about this one?"
I could have killed him! (Remember I always wear heels).
Needless to say, we got some awesome pics, of train parts and our boys, and it was kind of fun to see Left Brain so excited to check out the inner workings of something he was interested in.
All in all, it was a good day tater! I'll leave you with pics of the boys....afterall, that's why you check this silly website!
