In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

Oh Bella!

I was awakened this morning, just before 5am, as my husband walks through our bedroom and yells "OH MY GOODNESS!!" Followed by a long pause and then..." I JUST STEPPED IN SOMETHING WET!"
I got up and turned on the lamp, without my feet hitting the floor. My worst fear was realized. My dog had peed in the floor!

And as a side note, we aren't talking about some teeny little house/lap dog.
This is a 90 lb. Labrador Retriever!

Our bedroom floor was turned into a LAKE! Thank goodness that Left Brain was on his way to the shower. He almost had a stroke as it was, I can't imagine what would have happened if he'd already had a shower!

I got up and cleaned up the mess, put the dog outside, and immediately got a shower too. Dog pee is NASTY! While I was cooking breakfast, Left Brain proceeds to tell me that he had been up at least 8 times in the night to let her outside, apparently she felt sick or something, and each time he had to fight me to get back in bed.

Another side note: I sleep like a dead person! Waking me from a dead sleep is virtually impossible, nor do you want to attempt it. Left Brain always pokes me with another object, rather than touching me with his own arm, for fear of pulling back a nub.

This act of having to push me over to get back in bed only angered Left Brain more. So, by the 8th time he let Belle outside and fought me to get back in bed, he was good n' sour. The early morning "wet foot" simply ignited the full explosion. And boy howdy did he explode! In fact, I was concerned at how mad he was because Left Brain NEVER gets mad...seriously, NEVER! But then again, he really hadn't had much sleep. I get cranky when I don't get my 8 hours too.

By the time breakfast was finished, we ate, and everyone got out the door, we were running just a bit late. Not bad, but no time for dragging around. We had to get with it. Left Brain left first, and then I rushed the boys out the door.

Side Note Again, sorry: My plan was to drop Mr. GQ at elementary school first and then take Blue Eyes on to his pre-school on my way back through town. Blue Eyes' school only mandates that all students be there by 9:30am to be counted for lunch. We always drop him last if we are running tight on time.

We get about two miles down the road and my "swagger wagon" tells me that I have a flat tire. Oh crap! Now we are really gonna be late. I turned around and headed back home, knowing that Left Brain's old pickup truck was in the driveway and we could use it. We switched the booster seats around and head back towards school, at which point I realized two things. Not only does Left Brain's ratty pickup not have air-conditioning (it was already 98 degrees outside at 7am) but he left it in the driveway with NO GAS!

Side note: I already wanted to seriously injure Left Brain by this point because he rotated the tires on my "swagger wagon" last night and I asked him to check for leaks in the tire that was low on air. He conveniently "forgot".

I had to fish some lawn mower gas out of his rat infested little building to put in the truck so that I could at least make it to a gas station (they are few and far between out here....I have to drive all the way to town for gas).

I am dripping sweat by this point, and that really ticks me off when I have just gotten out of the shower! I get to town and drop Blue Eyes first. I had to break my usual "time strapped" routine because we were all crammed in this pick up and Blue Eyes was on the outside. So, I took him in and then headed on down the road for some gas.

I finally got GQ to school...and he was only 3 minutes late. But I still had to sign him in. He had an unexcused tardiness because of 3 minutes!! Ugh! Don't get me started on that one!

I got out of there and headed back home to get the "swagger wagon". Left Brain made me an appointment at a tire repair shop because I called him and made him feel bad about leaving me with a flat tire. ( I did after all ask him to check it the night before).

Crazy me drove that van with just 12 psi in that tire! I know I shouldn't have done it, but I couldn't find an air tank. I drop the van off and wait in the lobby, only to have the man walk in a few minutes later and tell me that there isn't a hole or anything in my tire. They can't find how all of that air got out! WHAT!?!?! Only my tire would decide to just lose air randomly. They aired it up for me and told me to keep an eye on it........sure thing.

As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I glanced down at the clock. It was 8:32am. I did all of that crap before 8:30 this morning. Just last week I was just beginning to cook breakfast at 8:30! Oh, how I miss summer break!

My day got much better from there! I had a nice lunch with my bestie at a good restaurant. It was highly enjoyable...and healthy! We let our frustrations fly....got it all out! It seems that she was having a similar day at work. Thanks bestie!

Bathtime is now closing, and we're on the heels of bedtime. 4:30am to 9pm makes for a long day. I'm gonna sleep soundly.

Goodnight my friends!
