In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

Just Blue Eyes

Today was the day that we just visited Blue Eyes....the every other thing. We went to see him around 10:30 and stayed til about 11:30, as usual. Since it rained last night, there were several puddles on the pavement around the orphanage. Blue Eyes makes every puddle he sees his own. He makes big splashes....but I think that comes with most little boys, right? These photos are of our walks around the orphanage. There is a road that makes a lap around the building and it makes for a nice walk. On days like today, when everything is wet and muddy on the playground, we make laps around the orphanage. It gives him exercise and he doesn't seem to mind that we are just walking and not playing. He likes walking and holding both of our hands. He is using more and more English everyday. Today he used all of the words that we have taught him so far on his own. He uses; please, more, apple, cereal, juice, and again. It's so sweet when he walks up to me and says,"Mama, more apple peez." He's coming along very well. It will be no time at all before he is using a lot of English. I would say that by the time we head home we will be able to understand a lot more of what he is saying. It's so wonderful to watch his progress. When you know that he is only around English about one hour a day, it really is amazing how fast he picks it up and remembers it from day to day. Can you tell I am a proud mama? Ha ha ha!
After our visit with little man, we walked back to the apartment and had lunch. We watched another few old episodes of "friends" on the internet. That's about the only tv show that we can find in English. We aren't able to view our netflix movies or catch tv shows off of the network websites from America because of the rights to the shows and movies. It always gives us the message that the viewing of these materials is not allowed to people outside of the U.S. So...we're stuck with what we can find from Europe. These "friends" episodes have french subtitles on them, but we don't care. It's English....and WE MISS IT!
Left Brain is gone from the apartment now because he walked down the street to pick up a pizza and bring it back to the apartment. It's rainy and cold outside and that's what we decided to do for supper. We bought some frozen pizzas earlier in the week from the market so that we could have things to cook here at the apartment. We opened one of them up tonight and it had all kinds of nasty looking stuff on it....and no cheese. Who eats pizza with no cheese? Apparently the people who make these things do! There was also some broccoli, eggplant, pepperoni, onions, etc. It wasn't a combo of things that we considered edible on pizza.....not to mention the no cheese thing. It was interesting to say the least. Oh, I forgot to mention that the box said their was only pepperonis and cheese on this frozen pizza.....I guess that made the whole thing a bigger deal....plus we were starving.
Anyway, when Left Brain returns we will have supper and wait to talk with friends and family on skype. We also usually get a phone call from Left Brain's dad.
We're looking forward to the weekend and the start of next week. We get to pick up the boys a week from today and start the paperwork to come home! YAY!

Our family is full of very smart people so why should we break the cycle, Mama.
