Here we go again! At our last visit we found out that Belle has a tumor around her liver and intestines. X-rays were inconclusive because there was too much fluid to see anything. He was able to feel it and suggested we go get an ultrasound before cutting her open for exploratory surgery. His fear is that once he opens her up he will see there isn't anything he can do for her. It's a rather large tumor and in it's location this is often times the case. Apparently this is a fairly common occurrence in large breed dogs. Her blood work came back great, other than slightly elevated liver enzymes, which is totally normal. This is great news. So today, it's off to the ultrasound we go! It should show the exact location of the tumor and if it is operable. Wish us luck!
