Yesterday I got to work with the bestie at her aunt's shop. It was the holiday open house and she needed some extra help.
These candles were on a shelf right next to the register, plus there was one on the counter that we lit about halfway through the day.
The particular one that we lit was in the scent of pumpkin vanilla, and EVERYONE that walked in the store had a comment on how pleasant the shop smelt.
I finally started taking advantage of this. The first woman I helped with candles, I got her sniffing different smells and suggesting what room in the house they would make the best impression, and she bought several.
The bestie was kinda already teasing me about my selling abilities and how I talked that woman into buying $60 worth of candles. Then there were two other ladies that commented on the smell in the shop, I showed them the birds. And I sold each of them the same scent we were burning.
As those two ladies were walking out the door, others were walking in and commented on the nice aroma in the shop....to which I immediately responded, "well let me tell you all about it!!!"
The bestie died laughing but it didn't keep me from selling the birds to those ladies too!!
Needless to say, I'm the candle whisperer.
