A couple of times a year, I clean out our closet. This mostly means that I clean out my portion of the closet, as Left Brain takes up very little space.
You should know this about me though, my closet looks no different than it did before I cleaned it out. My shoes are always lined up like that, and the clothes are always in color order! ALWAYS! It drives me crazy if they aren't! I simply went through all of the clothes and got rid of the things I haven't worn in a year or so, about 9 pairs of shoes and 15-20 tops. Sweet lil' Courtney reaped most of the benefit, as she's the only person I know that can wear my clothes. She was going to look through them and then donate anything that didn't fit or she didn't like.
Closet task accomplished!
It never gets very bad if you do it about twice a year.
