I've recently ventured into the world of online shopping. I've done it several times before when it came to my clothing, but only after having seen something too cute to pass up in a store and them not have my size. I was sort of pushed into online shopping by the retailers. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)
So this year, since the scariness of online shopping has left me, I decided to do the majority of my Christmas shopping online. It's absolutely wonderful! You can do so many things, visit so many places in your pajamas and face mask, never having left the comfort of your sofa. It's fantabulous! I love it!
Now that I've said all of that, I will tell you that I am still nowhere near being finished with my shopping. I can't come up with ideas for what to get people.....herein lies the rub. You can't buy it if you don't know what it is. I like unique gifts, or gifts that people can really use. Gift cards are the devil, you take perfectly good money and ruin it by saying, "here, you have to spend this money at this store....hope you can find something you like there!" I don't mind receiving them but I hate giving them. It feels so impersonal and cold.
Anywho....
Our Lola still isn't in the house yet. I'm trying to hold out for the sake of my loving husband who openly "gets very tired of looking at that thing by the time Christmas actually rolls around". His words, not mine. It's getting harder and harder to resist. All of the stores on the court square have their trees in the windows with all of the glitter and shiny things. It makes me long for Lola even more. I've missed her so.
OK, on to something else.
The boys are still doing great in school, I am still hanging on for dear life in my cardio-kickboxing class, Left Brain works like a mule, and life is good.
Life is good....with a small caveat......
this time change thing is really starting to wear on me. It is currently 15 minutes before 5pm, and almost dark outside. The days are so short that it's starting to depress me. I need/require more sunshine than this. I can't imagine how Left Brain feels about this. He leaves home in the mornings before the sun comes up and the sun has already set when he gets home in the afternoons. YUCK! It's gonna be a long winter!
Happy Wednesday!
