In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

It Went GREAT!

School went much better than I expected. GQ went in and sat by his teacher first thing. He was a little nervous because they were all in a circle sitting quietly and they all said "hey" when he walked in. I don't think he expected them to know his name. He played really close to me at first and the longer we were there the further from me he played. At the end of our visit he was clear across the room. It was great. We are going back this Wednesday but in the morning so that he can see a different part of the day. I think next week I will be able to leave him there alone for a half day. We will see how it goes.
This week has been interesting so far. Both boys starting speaking mostly English. I think the desire to try came from being around the other kids at church. I can't wait to see what happens with their English once they start school. It is amazing to me how quickly they have learned. I honestly thought it would take the two of them longer because they speak Russian to one another at home all of the time. But, alas....it hasn't....they are moving right along.

  2. I'm so glad to hear how well they are doing. As of tomorrow, we will have been home with Rebecca for one month. Her English reading skills are coming along well, but she still prefers to speak Russian at home. In due time...
