In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

Another adoption? Yes, please!!!

This addition is step one in the second adoption process.

Our little cracker box of a house is only big enough for the family we have right now. But we're changing that! As I type in fact!

Our addition is in process and should get a big kick in the coming few weeks!

The quicker we finish this addition, the quicker we can get a social worker here to verify there is a safe, comfortable environment for a child. Once the social worker does that....then the paperwork ensues. There will be a little more paperwork this time because instead of two of us in the family, there are now four. Four sets of interviews, four sets of fingerprints, four sets of background checks, four applications, four passports....you get the picture.

Even if the boys don't travel overseas with us, they still have to go through the process because they will be living in the same household as the newly adopted children. They still have to have interviews and background checks to make sure that they aren't a threat to a child, the same as we will. Seems odd that small children would be treated in the same manner as adults in that regard, but there's obviously a need for it, or it wouldn't be required.

We're hoping and praying that the housing market goes up before this project is finished, so that when appraised, our house has enough dough left in the budget to fund this adoption, or it may take a little longer to adopt because we'll have to save the money.

Either way, we know our family isn't finished growing....we're hoping to double the number of children running through this house sooner rather than later. We'll see the plans God has in store for us!
