In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

Baseball begins

GQ has finally gotten to the age where he is no longer in TBall, but Pinto League Baseball. And in our little town, when they age out of TBall they have to "tryout". It's basically just an evaluation so that the teams can be evenly distributed. The best players are spread out over all of the teams, so to keep things fair.

Well, GQ went to tryouts on Saturday. This kid LOVES baseball, and I don't say that lightly. He has baseball fever.

My dad got us a pitching machine for GQ to practice getting use to since that's what the Pinto League uses. Left Brain picked it up on Friday and let him play Friday afternoon before tryouts on Saturday. When GQ got home from his grandparent's house Saturday morning, he wanted to play a little more baseball before heading to tryouts at 12:30. He only stopped long enough to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (because I made him) and then was off to tryouts. He came home after tryouts and still hadn't gotten enough baseball in for the day, so he played until dark Saturday night. He came home from church on Sunday and was chomping at the bit to get out there again. He played all afternoon. And he's wanting to forgo homework for baseball this afternoon! JEEZ!

This kid eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. And I'm nowhere near kidding. It's borderline annoying. And if I didn't have intense love for the game myself it would get on my nerves, but I totally understand it.

He's been asking all winter when it was time for baseball again. If this weather stays pretty he'll be out there every afternoon til dark. And it's not like the kid NEEDS that much practice. He's got a natural baseball talent, he just loves it so much that he'll play til he passes out!

Poor little Blue Eyes is playing his first year of TBall this year and can't get GQ to stop long enough to help him learn the game. So he helped Papa feed balls into the pitching machine.

Sweet baby boy.

Looks like he'll be fairly good at baseball too.

What's with these kids, that came from a place that baseball doesn't exist, having an incredible talent in a sport that they didn't previously know?? And even more than that, being placed in a family that LOVES baseball! God has richly blessed us all!
