In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

Grrrr

The bestie and I had a wonderful time last night. I waited until the last minute to buy Easter outfits for my sweet lil' family and thank goodness I found something last night.

Today, however, left a little something to be desired.

I cannot relay to you in words the anger and disappointment I am feeling right now.

First let me tell you that the hubs is away this weekend, so that on it's own puts me in a bad mood.

Next let me tell you how my day went....

The bestie and I decided that we wanted to go to the 7AM kickboxing class with Mr. Dinh.
I was unable to get there.

I'd been noticing signs around town all week about driving cautiously due to the half marathon that our city was hosting on Saturday from 7AM to 11AM. I didn't think much about it.

City, if you're reading, IT WAS HORRIBLE! Someone should have taken the time to prepare a better location for the event than smack dab through the middle of the city shutting literally EVERY road down for 4 hours.

So, when I say I was unable to get to the 7AM kickboxing class....now you understand. I literally wasn't able to get there because ALL of the roads even remotely close to the gym were shut down. There were cops at EVERY intersection telling you that you couldn't pass.

So the bestie and I were able to make it to Cracker Barrel.....30 minutes later. So, we had breakfast and griped about the marathon runners and sat, and sat, and sat, because there was nowhere else we could go. Then we up and decided that by George we were going to make it to that gym. So we kinda cheated our way around and went the back way....and STILL couldn't get there. We were determined...so we parked and walked along the marathon trail to the gym. IT WAS RIDICULOUS!! But we got there by 9:45AM, just in time for the next class.

After class, we walked back to the car and still weren't able to really navigate around town, so we went to the tanning bed just down the street to kill a little more time. By the time we finished there things seemed to be clearing up. It was 11AM after all. And then, as if there hadn't been ENOUGH going on in this city today....they shut down the main highway through town for some motorcycle something or other.

WE LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN PEOPLE! You can't just go shutting down roads when you feel like it!

I made it home by about 11:30AM. It felt like a total waste of time!

What a day! Night. Night.
