In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

How sweet it is....

I love being a parent! There is no greater joy! Our boys are so sweet. We now have our routines set and the boys are completely adjusted. They still aren't too fond of older people but I think that is because they haven't seen many before. The average life expectancy in Ukraine is much younger than in America.
But now on to the sweet stuff....
Our routine goes as follows....Left Brain starts baths with Blue Eyes first while GQ winds down watching Curious George. When Blue Eyes is finished with his bath and brushing his teeth I take him to the bedroom and put on his pajamas and rock him and put him in bed. During the time that I do this...Left Brain is starting the same process with GQ. This is the sweetest and calmest part of my day. They turn into the most loving little boys at bedtime. Tonight as I was rocking Blue Eyes...I did the same things I always do. I sang to him and told him "I love you". All other nights before he just answers me with "Da" meaning "yes". And that is just fine. Tonight he sat up in my lap (rather than laying on my shoulder as he was at first) and said "I love you too Mama" and it was as clear as day. How precious. He knew just how to form that sentence! Amazing! Most things he says in English couldn't be understood by most people....for instance....I know that iken means chicken...but most people wouldn't put that together. This was so clear though. I am amazed at how fast they are understanding things and answering in English.
Left Brain and I have noticed that when the boys are in trouble or wanting something that we have said "no" to.....they start speaking English. They want to make sure that we understand they don't want a spanking or that they REALLY NEED whatever it is. It is so hard not to giggle in these moments.
We made it through the Thanksgiving festivities just fine. We had two places to visit on Thanksgiving (my grandmother's and LB's grandmother's) and the boys did fantastic with the traveling. Neither place was more than 7 miles from our house, so that didn't hurt the situation any. Today we went to one more Thanksgiving meal and the boys had fun at that one too! They both love to travel and get out of the house about everyday. But both of them never hesitate (and are usually ready) when we say it is time to go back home.
Life is fantastic for this new little family of four!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we also hope you get the Christmas Spirit bug here in the next few days! It is our favorite holiday!

Goodnight and God Bless!
We love you all (X4)!
