More about the boys....last night and yesterday afternoon went well. They went to sleep when they were supposed to and ate well. We took them back to the pizza place for dinner because Oksana said we needed to see if they would play. We later found out that she wanted to leave us there while she went to get the train tickets. We told her that they probably still wouldn't play but she wouldn't listen. GQ balled like a baby the entire time we were there after eating. He wanted to go home and we had no way to get there because Oksana took our cab to the train station. It was pitiful. All Blue Eyes wanted to do was walk around the mall holding my hand. So that is what we did. All four of us walked around and GQ balled the entire time. It was abosultely gut wrenching. I hated it for him but there was nothing I could do.
They awoke this morning at 7am. It was another good nights sleep for Left Brain and I because they slept all through the night. YAY!
We have already had breakfast and Left Brain had his shower while I wrangled them after breakfast. He is planning to take them outside for quite a while so that I can pack the suitcases and clean the apartment. Then it will be off to town to find GQ some more pants...somehow he ended up with fewer outfits than Blue Eyes and needs some more clothes. We are going to try to eat at McDonald's for lunch to see how they like it. Blue Eyes won't eat anything unless it is room temperature...if it is cold at all or warm at all he won't even touch it. It's ridiculous but we are dealing with it. So, we will see how that goes. We also have to go and pay the lady we rented the apartment from. Today will be a day of a lot of running around...which the kids, as you read before, aren't fond of. Please pray for that...and especially for GQ because he is still deathly afraid of the traveling to America. He's been throwing fits all morning because today is the day. He knows and is already scared.
We may not have internet after today. This may be the last post that you get until we get home. I will try in Kiev...but who knows. Just so you all know...our flight leaves Kiev at 6:45am on Saturday morning (Ukrainian time) and it arrives in Memphis at 5:20pm (US time). We should be home around 9pm. FINALLY! It will actually feel like 4am for us and the kids...so please no calls or visits on Sunday. We will need the rest. I will post on the blog on Sunday to let you all know how we made it. I will also send an email from my phone to let everyone know we landed ok.
I hope you all are doing well and we can't wait to be back in KY! Here are a few pics to tide you over.

So glad to hear things are moving along. I pray that everything does move smoothly and your little ones become happy, travel afficionados by they time they reach their new home. Hang on tight, you're almost there!
ReplyDeleteKeep calm...it will be very hard to travel with the boys but remember...they watch you and Ben and how you all react and respond so try to keep calm and keep smiling. God will take care of you all. We will continue to pray and will miss the blog. Have a safe trip home. Love, Chris, Heather, C.J., Kierstin & Kari
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip and remember travel can be a bonding experience. It will probably try your patience but I'm sure your aware of that. Hope everything gets done on schedule and you can be home as possible.
ReplyDeletenow for some hints on home coming. limit visitors!!!! have the children sit in your lap while visitors are there. i wouldn't encourage much affection with others for a few more weeks.LIMIT TOYS!!! tell people to please not bring anything at this time. there will be plenty of time for gift giving. just a few toys, books, puzzles etc.. limit trips away from home. it will be fine to leave them with each other while one of you gets a break. they need to see that you will come back and they will be fine. we didn't go to church for about 3 weeks. i may sound hard, but the bonding process is more fragile than it looks and there are many layers to build on. i hope to get to meet you all myself in a few weeks! my chidren would love to see them. almost home!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family of
ReplyDeletefour!!! Hang in there. Pass out lots of hugs and kisses, they are the same in ALL languages. Love, from Keith & Schana Thorn
It is so good to know you are almost home. If you need anything when you get home...you just call and I will be glad to help. LoveX4, Gin
