In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

New lesson learned!

Our lesson for the day today was....never bite into any food over here....break it open first!

Tonight at supper I got what I thought were rolls....and THERE WAS MEAT INSIDE! YUCK! They call it meat pie! Eeewww!
Anyway, today went well with Blue Eyes, as always. He is such an easy child. He is easily entertained and easily corrected. He is definitely turned more like Left Brain in that department.
We played in the sandbox again and did all things that spin fast in a circle. Left Brain had to get on to him today for grabbing things out of my bag and throwing them. When he scolded him, Blue Eyes screamed, "I want my mama!" and started running toward me. As you can imagine...I smiled really big and stuck my tongue out at Left Brain. LB just giggled at me.
The day with GQ was the worst yet...but by most standards was a typical toddler fit day. On the up side he repeated every English word we said. He's learning and even uses some of the words in sentences as substitution for his Russian. Most of today he was yelling at us and he hit me in his anger and got a light spanking for it. We explained to him that only a good boy could go home to America with us. This works for him because he wants to go to America because Superman, Batman, and Spiderman live in America. GQ did get sassy with us when we were explaining to him that he had to be good for us. He told us that he knew that wasn't true because there was a bad boy at the orphanage before and he got to go to America anyway. He's right...we will adopt him anyway at this point. He threw a fit all visit today and we finally had to leave in the midst of it. We hated to do that but our time was up. This made things worse because he had just stopped his crying and he found out we were leaving, which made him cry all over again. He screamed, "if you leave then don't ever come back" at us. He wouldn't give us a hug or a kiss good-bye today...but we got a good one from him when we first arrived. We know that he is just a typical child plus he is going through a lot of unfamiliar things all at once. We have plenty of patience with him...Oksana says too much! We'll tighten up on him after we get home and he gets a little comfortable in his new surroundings. Things will work out just fine...as Left Brain always says, "It'll all come out in the wash!" Haha!
I can't wait until Monday when I feel comfortable posting photos of the boys! They are SO DARN CUTE that ya'll will immediately fall in love with them. Blue Eyes has the sweetest puppy dog eyes and GQ has the cutest dimples! They are precious!
I hope you all have a great rest of the day!
