In October 2009, Left Brain and I ventured to Ukraine to start our family. We adopted two precious little boys. We are currently wanting to expand our family by 2 more! We're looking into adoption again. Read along, see where our journeys take us.

It's midnight in Montgomery...

I think it is sometime around midnight for all of you. I hate that the time I get to post is early morning and nap time. Maybe you can see this when you wake, rather than the usual after lunch routine.
We had a better night last night...thanks to our Benadryl testing. We wanted to see how the boys reacted to it so we gave it to them last night before doing so on the plane. That way, if it made them hyper rather than sleepy, we would know ahead of time and not have the whole plane so mad at us. It took about an hour to kick in, or maybe that is how long it took for them to wear themselves out...who knows! We are going to try a little stronger dose tonight...we only gave them a little bit last night.
They are outside with Left Brain right now playing. I think he is just as tired and ready to go home as I am, he just won't say, for fear of making it harder on me. What a strong man he is! We only have 5 more days...on the 6th day we will be flying! YAY! This is possibly the hardest thing either Left Brain and I have ever done in our whole lives...but we know the reward will be spectacular! This is the right thing.
We are planning on taking them to the zoo today. That will be fun for them and give Left Brain and I something to do away from the apartment...no toys needed. That is what is so hard...no toys and they get bored easily. I hope they have fun at the zoo. I'll try to take some pictures of the boys together at the zoo and post them during nap time. We'll see how that goes.
Hope you all have a great day!
These photos are from our trip to the zoo today. It wasn't a very good zoo....not many animals there, just empty cages. We thought you would enjoy photos anyway!

  1. Did the boys get stung by bees that you are giving them Benadryl? Do they have confirmed (by the doctor) allergies? Experimenting with drugs is dangerous. I don't want anything "bad" to happen to the boys. Happy, healthy boys are energetic:)

  2. Nice to see pics with your boys together! Make sure you have your facilitator take lots of family pics of all of you together while you are in UA :) Those pics will be priceless to your kids! A little note about your comment to family and friends about being patient as the boys may not come to them right away... as much as our families want to show their love to our new kiddos, and we truly understand it is best to keep this at a distance for sometime. Make sure Mama & Papa are the ones giving hugs & kisses for comfort, meeting their needs, giving food & drinks, putting the boys to bed, etc. Some family may not understand this, but your boys have not come from an environment which many are not familiar with. Right now they need to establish a strong bond with Mom & Dad. Every female figure is "Mama" to them up to this point, now the true Mommy steps in for life, and they will have to learn what this means. Congratulations Again, your boys are adorable! You will be home very soon!
